Megan McLean 38 Mormon Lane Whitehall, MT 59759 April 22, 2014 To Whom It May Concern: Please accept this

letter of interest and enclosed resume as application for an elementary teaching position. As a soon to be graduate from Montana State University-Bozeman, I will have my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-8 Education). I believe you will find me to be a dedicated, flexible, and passionate educator who will provide the motivation and focus students need to be successful. As a teacher, I want to help my students understand the importance of education so each one can blossom into well-rounded successful individuals. My greatest strengths include my classroom experience, ability to help students, and collaborating with others. I have volunteered for several years at Whitehall Elementary as well as, substituting the last three years. In May of 2013, I was given the opportunity to substitute for four weeks; I was half-day librarian and half-day second grade. During my time as a sub, I had to maintain order in the classroom and develop weekly lesson plans. I fulfilled my practicum experience at Saddle Peak Elementary in Belgrade, MT in a Kindergarten classroom with twenty-two students. I completed my student-teaching experience at Whittier Elementary in Butte, MT in a third grade classroom with twenty-eight students. In addition to becoming a teacher, I would embrace the opportunity to become an athletic coach. I believe that sports teach numerous lessons to kids that they will use later in life. My background in athletics includes basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Please contact me at your convenience to set up a meeting so that we could discuss how my qualifications would best meet the needs of your district. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely,

Megan McLean
