During our planning of our film, we wanted to make sure that our film would appeal both genders.

Even though we decided upon an action thriller genre, we made the protagonist female as it allows the small percentage of females who like action thrillers to relate to Ava. Moreover, as the male gender is the typical target audience for action thrillers, we decided to go along with this tradition as well as go against it with our target audience being both males and female with the age being from 12 to 36. The reason we had done this is because we had researched the most popular age groups for our genre (image on the right) and we adapted that onto our film. We decided to lower our target audience to 12 as this could be a storyline that many young teenagers could enjoy viewing, also, our film would only contain moderate violence and so it would not be too explicit or extreme for young teenagers.
