Cuba is the largest island in the group of large Antilles. It is surrounded on all sides
by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Gulf of Mexico to the north and
the Caribbean Sea to the south. Cuba has an elongated shape in the east-west 1200
km long with an average width of 110km. In these boundaries it covers an area of
