As an educator I believe:

It is the responsibility of the teacher to create a supportive, encouraging, and inspiring environment.

Being a teacher is a passion that takes persistence, enthusiasm, and patience; while being a role model of teaching/learning for the students. Education should nurture the natural development of a childs learning enabling them to become independent thinkers and learners; while actively participating and developing cooperative learning skills. It is important to reflect daily on best teaching practices. Ongoing self-study is beneficial to the learning environment in the classroom. Collaborative teaching and learning allows for divergent views that assist in gaining alternative teaching perspectives. The ultimate goal of education is to build the foundation for students to develop self-knowledge, inquiry, and learning outside of the classroom.
