Outline Audience: Drug cartels surprisingly play a very large role in today's world and I believe students at universities

and maybe even students as young as middle school could be the audience for this. I say middle school because some cartels recruit at a very early age. The youngest I have come across was 1 but I would not be surprised if there were even younger !ids being recruited. The other idea I have for audience are police officers in training especially agents in training speciali"ing in drug cartels. #urpose: I want to learn about drug cartels because many people try to avoid ac!nowledging this topic$ even though this could easily effect anyone's life. % I want my audience to get to !now the history because it can be &ust as important as any other sub&ect$ and cartels may repeat things they have done in the past which can help an investigation. 'onte(t: If my time line is really good maybe it will be in history boo!s)) Or the audience could access it on the internet* They could read it in a classroom or on their computer at home. Drug cartels have had a very big influence in +e(ico and the top part of ,outh America for a while$ and they seem to be more powerful than ever at this day and age. Also the -, is fueling their power with tons of weapons and money. .enre: I chose to do the time line because it !eeps everything neat$ organi"ed and well structured. %hich$ I have reali"ed during my writing career that !eeping my essays neat and orderly is e(tremely difficult for me. +inding the gap)) a writer calls the readrs attention to a gap in the research on an issue and then uses the res of the essay to fill in the gap. A minding/the/gap intro says in effect 0wait a minute. There1s something missing from this conversation$ and my research and ideas will fill in this gap. .eorge hated pablo esocbar but he did not li!e the thought of wor!ing for another drug cartel to ta!e him out and he would put his family at ris! but they provided him an offer he could not refuse.
