To whom it my concern, When I began teaching five years ago I made it a goal of mine to help my students succeed in any

way that I could. I am passionate about what I do and have been driven by three things maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students interest in reading and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students. I have worked to obtain a Masters of Arts in Education/Curriculum and Instruction- Reading. I believe that through furthering my education I can better serve my students and their individual needs. I am excited about the prospect of becoming a reading specialist for the Caesar Rodney School District. As a current employee for the Caesar Rodney School District as a special education teacher at J. Ralph McIlvaine Early Childhood Center I am very passionate about this district. I believe this district strives for excellence within their staff as well as their students. I feel by becoming a reading specialist I will be able to motivate, encourage, and support the success among all of my students.

My qualifications include 5 years of elementary teaching experience, MEd and BS degrees in elementary education k-6, special education k-12, early childhood special education birth-grade 2 as well as a masters in reading in the state of Delaware. In my most recent position as kindergarten special education teacher at J. Ralph McIlvaine, I developed and taught kindergarten curricula. For 5 years, I provided creative lesson plans, effective classroom management, detailed student evaluations and highly praised instructional delivery. I have taken on leadership rolls through professional development as well as through joining committees within my school. Although I enjoy teaching kindergarten at J. Ralph McIlvaine Early Childhood Center, I feel I can grow as a teacher by obtaining a position as a reading specialist.
