Everyone refers to the predictions of the astrologer and the forecast made by almanacs. Most temple hold special poojas in the temple , praying for peace and prosperity of the nation and its people.

Chithira Pournami is an auspicious day celebrated grandly in all temples. It also a festival in honour of Chitragupta, the messenger of Lord Yama Dharmaraja, the God of Death. Chitragupta is a record keeper or secret photographer of all good and bad deeds performed by us. Our action determines our future and we should not blame anyone for any misfortune that befalls us. The best way is to be calm, pray and leave it to the Almighty. In Kanchipuram(India), there is a special shrine for Chitragupta. The icon has a reading bok in one hand and a stylus in the other, and is taken out in a ceremonial procession on this day
