IMMUNE SYSTEM

PROTECTING THE ORGANISM

OVERVIEW

The human body is constantly being invaded by foreign substances, which are known as antigens. These antigens can cause a multitude of reactions from mild to fatal.

Ask to yourself

How do you feel when you are sick? What happens to your body when you are sick? What makes you feel better?

What happens within your body?

When a person is exposed to a foreign invader, the body sets up an immune reaction. These reactions occur immediately in the body. The mechanisms of these reactions are the same whether it is a simple splinter or exposure to a deadly pneumonia bacterium. Each reaction will occur on a different scale during the attack. The body sends out its attack force to protect us from infection.

What is an infectiuos disease?
