For example how Mr Kharral is dressed shows that he is very religious as he is wearing a religious costume. He also talks about spicy food which are seen in his religion. Whereas the younger boy Maxxie is dressed in normal clothes which shows that he has a different culture. In the clip I have seen is Mr. Kharral positioned in between the two young boys which represent him as being the dominating character. Camerawork is also a technique through which ethnicity is represented. In the clip is a high angle used to represent the relationship between Mr Kharral and Maxxie. The high angle is looking down on Maxxie which represents him as being in a lower position as Mr. Kharral. He has to look up to him which therefore shows that Mr Kharral is the dominating person because he is higher than Maxxie. When Maxxie tells Mr Kharral that he is gay there is a close up being used to show is emotions and it also tells that Maxxie is looking to him for his opinion and acceptance. Thirdly I want to say something about editing because ethnicity is also represented through this. For example a shot reverse shot is being used to show that the two characters are having a conversation. It is also used to show Mr Kharrals reaction to the fact that Maxxie is gay. He doesnt react as thought because he is accepting this which is an antistereotype because normally it is against the beliefs of this culture to have same sex relationships. The fact that he accepts this shows that Mr Kharral is respectful of other culture. The dialogue used in this clip shows that Mr Kharral is a very strong follower of his religion as he is talking about god who is talking to him everyday. The dialogue also shows that Mr Kharral normally doent agree with gay people because he is saying This is stupid fucked up world which shows his views of gay people. This therefore is very stereotypical for the culture he is living in because they beliefs are that there shouldnt be relationships with the same sex.
