com SSG Smith 1066 Jackson Crossing Jackson, MI 49202 Phone: (517) 788-8712 Dear SSG Smith: I am applying for the Military Occupational Specialty(MOS) of 12B or Combat Engineer. I have deep interest in this field because I am an Army Veteran and my academic background qualifies me for this MOS along with my past in the U.S. Army. I am a graduate of Western Michigan University and I have received my Bachelors of Science in Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to that, I also minored in Civil Engineering allowing myself many opportunities here and worldwide. I am currently in the Army Reserves, but my contract will expire in November, and I have wanted to go active for a very long time. During my time in the reserves I have logged countless hours in LMTVs, MTVs, and HEMMTs. I also have been trained in combatives to level II. In addition I am employed at a tool and die company here in Jackson, Michigan. At that company we make and design parts for various vehicles in the world. I specifically am on a team that is trying to make parts and components for the military. In addition to that, my team has made a great discovery that allows gasoline vehicles to increase the number of miles to gallon by ten miles by changing various parts in the engine. In both of my work experiences I have learned what is key in teamwork and that everybody on the team has the same objective as you do. I am very familiar with both military and civilian lifestyles, and have learned how to reintegrate into the civilian life after deployment. I also have helped other veterans overcome their issues with PTSD and I know of certain ways that can reduce it now and during deployment rather than completely after. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,

Corey Schittenhelm
