7 Integration of knowledge: use the illustrations and details in a text to describe key ideas.

Objective: After reading and going over the book One Fine Day, students will be able to pick two of four pages chosen from the book, to illustrate and write a sentence about the two pages of their choice. Assessment: Illustrate on the worksheet given two of their own chosen pages and write a sentence below it explaining what is going on in the picture. This is to know that they understand what they are reading, and paying attention as they read. Materials and Resources: -The book One Fine Day -Work sheet -Crayons Anticipatory Set: I need to be able to read the sentence below the picture, and be able to tell what may be going on in the picture they draw. Procedures: 1. After reading and explaining the book, they should select two of the four pages I have selected that they would like to illustrate. 2. Make sure name is on the worksheet they are given. 3. Draw a picture of the two pages in the two separate boxes given on the worksheet. 4. Once the pictures are drawn explain on the lines given what is going on in their picture. Adaptations: 1. Children that need help must raise their hand. 2. The children not able to draw or write on their own ask for help from teacher or aide in the room at that time.

Closure: All children are to share what they have drawn and tell the class why they picked that page. As a class we will read the next pages in the book. Lesson Evaluation/ Reflection:
