WELL MET Jaime Alfredo Cabrera A mother now, of two angels that bedevil her nights and days

and a husband that rained her tears after the of best intentions

Shes scrubbed of dreams but selfish ways still cling like the red bougainvillea that clouds scarlet our summer days we pretend are here again

Im no teacher now so she binds any suggestion so resentful is she that she cries when she spies the student freedoms of her days

painted lips and scheming smiles for the right male to begin her name a crown she did not think would wring her out of her dreams

I take her to the waiting flight to say goodbye, I sigh, where would I be if like her Id waited for the paint to dry so I could round the next corner? 10/12/06 6:18:23 PM
