IRE Ww 2s: INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS: 67 COMMERCE DRIVE SOUTH + HARRIMAN, NY 10928, TELEPHONE (848) 789-0500 “Serving the Hudson Valley” FAX (845) 783-9556 October 15, 2009 Official Notice Nominations and Election Pursuant to an agreement between Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 363 and the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS), Local Union 363 will conduct new nominations and a new election for the Local’s seven (7) Executive Board Members, seven (7) Delegates to the International Convention, and eight (8) Alternate Delegates to the International Convention. Delegates to the International Convention cast votes for International Officers on behalf of the Local Union. The nominations and election will be conducted under OLMS supervision. The nominations for Executive Board, Delegates and Alternate Delegates of Local Union 363 will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Local 363°s Training facility in Harriman - 67 Commerce Drive South. Anyone desiring to be nominated must be present during the nominations or provide a written and signed statement indicating that they will accept the nomination, Self nomination is allowed. The signed statement must specify the position for which the nomination is being accepted and may either be (1) mailed to the Local President, at the Local 363 office (67 Commerce Drive South, Harriman, N.Y. 10926) in time to be received prior to the nominations, or (2) brought to the nominations meeting by the member who will be making the nomination, These are new nominations and a new election for the following positions: Executive Board (7 positions) Delegates to the International Convention (7 positions) Alternate Delegates to the International Convention (8 positions) Only current (as of November 3, 2009) dues paying members in the construction industry as general foreman, foreman and journeyman, and all current (as of November 3, 2009) dues paying members in the non-construction units are eligible to nominate, be nominated and vote in the election. You are permitted to nominate yourself if you meet these criteria, Apprentices in good standing are eligible to vote in the election. In order to be nominated, a member must have a minimum of two (2) years of continuous good standing in Local Union 363 through October, 2009. Continuous good standing means that the member is current in his/her payment of dues and has been timely in the payment of dues for each month of the two (2) years preceding the nominations. (NOTE: For a member of a merged Local Union, continuous good standing will be bridged between the involved Local Unions). [IBEW Constitution Article 15 Section 5 No L.U. shall allow any member who becomes an electrical employer, or a partner in an electrical employing concern, to hold office in the L.U. or attend any of its meetings, or vote in any elections of a L.U. The L.U. shall allow such a member to continue his membership in the L.U. or take a withdrawal card for deposit in the International Organization]. Any member working in a supervisory position higher than general foreman shall be ineligible to nominate or be nominated for office. The election for these positions shall be by secret mail ballot. Ballots will be mailed to all eligible members on November 20, 2009, Ballots must be returned inside the secret ballot envelope in the self-addressed stamped envelope in time to be received at the designated Post Office box by December 10, 2009. If you do not receive your ballot by November 27, 2009, you must call ELECTEC, Inc. at 1-877-572-0700, extension 3 to receive a new ballot. The ballots will be counted immediately after being picked-up at the post office and upon return to Local Union 363°s Training facility in Harriman — 67 Commerce Drive South and ‘the results shall be announced immediately after all ballots are counted. A complete listing of the results shall be posted on the Union bulletin board and Union web page by the close of business on the day following the election. Installation will take place at the first regularly scheduled meeting following the tally. Members can protest the election at any time prior to, during, and up to 10 days after the election. Protests must be in writing, addressed to the OLMS Election Supervisor, Henry Fleary, at the address or fax number below in time to be received by December 21, 2009.
