Dear Ms. Goodson,
I am interested in being considered for a student internship with campus ministry at St.
Augustines. I am currently enrolled in the University of Idaho and believe my experiences and
skills show I am qualified for this position.
I have been a member of the St. Augustines parish for four years. In those four years, I have
become involved with the community. I have attended multiple retreats and functions, such as
movie nights, community dinners, and service events. In 2012, I was asked to be a member of
the student leadership team and I have been a part of it since. After joining the leadership team, I
became involved with the planning of retreats and events. During the 2012-2013 academic year,
I helped plan the annual Vandal Awakening retreat, and led a confirmation retreat for local high
school students. For the current 2013-2014 academic year, I helped plan Vandal Awakening, a
parish Christmas party, and brainstorm Theology on Tap discussion topics.
Between 2007 and 2011, I worked at Tautphaus Park Funland. For my first four summers, I
provided customer service, operated rides, prepared food, and preformed basic janitorial and
maintenance duties. In 2011, I was promoted to manager. As manager, I scheduled staff,
reconciled registers, trained new employees, and managed inventories of perishable and
nonperishable food supplies. I managed crews of up to eight employees.

In 2012, I was employed at Taco Time. Beginning in March, I was a crew member, I provided
customer service, prepared food, and preformed basic janitorial duties. In July 2012, I was
promoted to shift supervisor. I supervised crews of up to six employees, trained new crew
members, managed labor costs, and reconciled cash registers and petty cash.

Between my volunteer and employment experiences, I have learned the value of communicating
well with people: customers, supervisors, coworkers, and my peers. I believe the job is not
finished until the task at hand is completed. I strive to be more innovative with problem solving
and make more connections with the people around me.

My employment history and volunteer experiences indicate I am well qualified for the student
internship with campus ministry at St. Augustines.
Thank you,
Victoria Reyes
