I am privileged to write in support of Abigail OBrien. Abigail spent over 550 hours of clinical experience throughout 3 semesters under my direction at Munson Medical Center, during which time was spent on units specializing in orthopedics, general medical, and stroke-telemetry. She also spent time in the procedure room, operating room, rehab, emergency room, and nursing leadership. Abigail has matured as a nurse through tremendous growth and development.
Admirable traits in which Abigail possesses include high-level work ethic, intelligence, and compassion. Abigails enthusiasm for nursing knowledge is much exceeding the average nursing student. Abigail has quickly assimilated the immense knowledge base and organizational components of nursing. She has a solid background for healthcare experience as she worked on the Coronary Intervention Unit (A3) at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI from 2007-2011. Abigail also worked at Evergreen Terrace assisted living in Big Rapids and as a CENA at Bortz extended care facility in Traverse City. On a personal level, Abigail has cared for disabled foster children in her family home. She takes quality care personally and truly cares for others as she would for herself or another member of her family. Adding to her educational experience, Abby possesses an Associates degree in Applied Science from Northwestern Michigan College and a Bachelors degree in Integrative Studies from Ferris State University.
Abigail works fantastically with both patients and staff. Throughout all the units, I was given many compliments by patients and staff regarding several aspects of Abigails personality, care, and ability. She was always eager to go a step further than expected and consequently gained several strong connections with patients and staff.
In an era of rapidly changing healthcare, I would strongly encourage adding Abigail as a staff member due to her many abilities, caring spirit, and personable attitude. Abigail will be a positive nursing influence in any setting.
