seemed similar to ours? What seemed different? How well do you feel you can relate to the Baka? Do
you think you could be happy living like them? Why or why not?

I really enjoyed watching the film about the Baka. Such a simple group of people. There were many
times where I felt that they related to us. The family dynamic was the most similar to ours. The father,
mother, child relationship was an example. The way the father would teach the son and the curiosity of
the child. The Baka would joke around with each other and were very friendly. The women had a job to
set up camp, while the men were out hunting for food. The differences I noticed were how in tune with
the earth they were and the fact that they didnt waste anything, where we are such a wasteful society,
and we are not in tune with the earth. I wouldnt know how or where to look for a beehive, they can
listen to the trees and follow the sound of the buzz once the bees leave the trees. They know which
roots to dig up and that after a certain process of beating the root it produces a poison that, once
released into the river, will deprive fish of oxygen. They are very resourceful.
