One specific poem that relates back to when I was a child definitely has to be
Where Children Live by Noami Nye. This poem brings back so many memories of
the things I used to do when I was a child. One line from the poem that definitely
reminds me of my childhood was Homes where children live exude a pleasant
rumpledness (Nye). This line reminds me greatly of my childhood because a home
where a child lives is very much distinguishable from a house that a child doesnt
live in. Where theres a child you tend to see a clean mess. Children dont really
care for organization but when they do things, in their eyes, its organized and thats
a feeling you only get when youre a kid. Not one person can explain why they did
the things they did when they were a child and that does for me also. It was just a
feeling of innocence and having no logic yet. That feeling is something that someone
only experiences once in his or her life. This line relates to me so much because
when I was a kid I would make the biggest mess and think that there was nothing
wrong with the mess I made but only that I should add own to it. But the greatest
part of it all was that there was nothing harmful of what I did. It wasnt something
morally wrong, but something organizationally wrong. But for any child they
wouldnt understand organization and thats the beauty of it all.
