Michulkatobeprofessional,mature,andstronglydedicatedtoherwork.
Ms.MichulkafirstcametomynoticeasapotentialTechnicalCommunicationmajor.Assomeonewith
considerableworkingexperiencealready,Ms.Michulkareadilysawtheapplicabilityoftechnical
communicationtomanyprofessionalsettings.Itwasnotdifficulttoconvinceherofthevalueofthe
major,butshealsoaskedthoughtfulandintelligentquestionsthatmademeconfidentshewouldexcel
init.
InInformationDesign,Ms.MichulkaparticipatedinacollaborativeprojectforredesigningtheTTUArts
&SciencesGeneralEducationRequirementssheet.Thisseeminglysimplesheetofpaperplaysa
significantroleinthelivesofthe8700orsostudentsintheCollegeofArtsandSciences,whouseitto
plantheircourseworktomeetacomplexwebofrequirements.ThedocumentMs.Michulkasgroup
beganwithhadasignificantnumberoftypographicalbarrierstoitssuccessfuluse,makingitmorelikely
thatstudentswouldtakeawrongcourseorthatadvisorswouldhavetospendmoretimeexplainingthe
requirementsthanwasnecessary.
Ms.Michulkawasaleaderinhergroupsdevelopmentofmultipleiterationsoftheredesigned
document,eachsubjectedtousabilitytestingandheuristicanalysis.Attheendofthesemester,her
teampresentedtheclientwiththefinalprototype,whichaftersomefurtherworkonimplementation,
willberolledoutforgeneralusein2014.ThisprojecttaughtMs.Michulkavaluableskillsindocument
design,technicalinformationdevelopment,audienceanalysis,usabilitytesting,andagile/iterative
projectmanagement.
