This articles main focus was on childhood anxiety and psychiatric disorders.

The author
states that when a child is rejected by their parent or the parents is too over protective, it can
cause stress disorders in the children. It goes on to say that parental control typically leads to
childhood shyness and risks for meeting criteria for an anxiety disorder. Over protective and
anxious parenting styles are linked to an increase in children worry or anxiety. In this study, the
children and some adults were required to take tests that could further help medical workers
understand the correlation between adult behavior and childhood psychiatric disorders. When
these tests were taken by adults, it measured parental rearing behaviors that are considered
important to the development and maintenance of childhood anxiety and psychiatric disorders.
This was the only measure that was able to relate the connection with parents and their children.
This site was credible because it showed both supporting and opposing points for and
against their claim.
