1. Low Rider by War: This song is about low-riding hot rods. The singer talks about how all of his
friends know he has a low-rider and how low-riders make him better than everyone else, in the lyrics,
All my friends know the low rider. The low rider is a little higher.
2. My Hooptie by Sir Mix-a-Lot: This song is about how Sir Mix-a-Lots car is falling apart and in poor
condition, but he cares for it because its his own personal car. Even though his friends and girls ridicule
him, hes proud of it.
3. Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin: In this song, Janis Joplin prays to god for a Mercedes Benz and a
color TV. She thinks that if she gets these things, she will be happier.
4. Black Sunshine by White Zombie: This song compares driving in a Mustang with a bullet shooting
out of a gun. It also compares the asphalt road with the sun, calling it black sunshine.
5. Race with the Devil by Gene Vincent: This song is about racing hot rods against the devil. The
singer races against the devil because hes led a life of sin and winning will save him from the devil.
6. Car Crazy Cutie by The Beach Boys: This song is about a man with a girlfriend whose crazy about
cars. She knows how to work on cars and helps out the singer. Women stereotypically dont know
about cars and the singer has the only girl who knows how.
