Brainard and Kennedy Response

Both the Joe Brainard and the Adrienne Kennedy's stories were interesting, strange, and unique
all in one. Both stories were interesting because they discussed past memories of times in their lives,
what they experienced, and what they were exposed to. They were strange because the writing styles of
them both followed a very different scheme. Brainard's reading was completely unconventional in how
he spoke very repetitively and somewhat broken up. Kennedys writing style seemed to be a little more
put together but he still spoke very sporadically with his ideas, it seemed to jump from place to place.
Both readings were unique because even though they seemed to go off on tangents and have no finite
subject, they both did once it was interpreted correctly. The reader could then appreciate the flashbacks
and continuous connections to each of the writers pasts. I think that after reading these stories my
mind was opened up to a new way of writing; this proved that there is no one set way to tell a story. In
addition to that, my curiosity to experience more unfamiliar writing styles has been awakened.
