The middle ages stretched from roughly before the 15 hundreds.

Times was hard for

people living there, Terror, Pain, Sorrow Are all Characteristics of feelings living at the this
time. Why, barbarians, vikings, and other cruel people were spreading destruction upon
innocent people. Many authors described what they heard, saw, felt, and cried about. Authors
such as Frantz Funck-Brentano, and H.C. Davis written a document to describe everything they
knew about the dark ages.
Evidence was clearly shown to describe this dark time. Many excerpts or personal
experiences was told to people to explain how they felt and what they saw. According to
historian Frantz Funck-Brentano life was horrific. "The Barbarians have broken through the
ramparts" was one line to show exactly how bad it was. And, because of these events, the
author would agree that this is an example of a term called "Dark Ages".
According to the issued call made by pope Urban II in 1095 a holy crusade was sent to
recapture the holy land. The pope must of had lots of power if he had enough to call out a
crusades. That was a dark time for people who believed in faith. Another time was when the
plague struck. According to Agnolo Di Tura's document, the plague was a horrific sight that
made many people die day and night. Hundreds were killed and few survived.
Now back to the Middle Ages, According to H.C. Davis's description on the Middle Ages,
life was imperfect and couldn't be changed. However the memories and achievement of earlier
times of the "golden ages", it shows that before it was a place that was truly bright. Also people
have made it through all the mayhem that everyone caused, and developed treasure and
knowledge. After years on, it started becoming the dark ages and it wouldn't be stopped. That
explains while there was bright days, there was always dark ages.
It would seem to many authors, that the Middle Ages were truly dark just by there detailed
description given by each author, that the dark ages were truly dark just by there detailed
explanation and description given by author. Besides all negative opinions on the Middle Ages,
other authors was saying that most times it wasnt always dark and that it was golden because it
didnt effect everyone, about two authors has given there opinion on how they felt about the dark
ages and the golden ages.
