Hello parents and students! My name is
Ms. Alvita Milner and I will be teaching

Grade life science for this school
term. I am very excited to be working
with you this year. I have a lot of fun
lessons planned and I cannot wait to
jump right in, but have to know a little
about me first.
This will be my 5

year teaching and my

rd
year teaching life science. I received
my Bachelors Degree in Middle Grades
from Education in 2014. I have taught 2
years at Staley Middle school and I have
been here at GSW Middle School for 3
years. I look forward to working with
each and every one of you! Welcome

The purpose of this newsletter is to
keep parents and students on what we
will be learning for this school term. I
know there are concerns about the
CRCT that is to be given later this year,
but I assure all of you that we will work
on it every step of the way to make sure
our students succeed.

Up until the date for the field trip, students will learn about
various wildlife animals. They will design a poster board for each
animal that they learn about so that it may be put on display at
the parks exhibit.
02/06/15
Field trip to Georgia
Aquarium
Up until the date for the field trip, students will learn about
animals in the oceanic life. As a part of this project, students
will be responsible for feeding the class fish each week. They
will watch several documentaries about the animals of the ocean
and will make a video
04/09/15

Up until the date for the project, students will learn about the
types of plants that live in this region of the state. They will take
a field trip to the local nursery to pick out flowers for the school
garden. Flowers will be planted on April 9
th
, 2015.

As we all know, our students will be
taking a very important test near the
end of the year that will determine
whether he or she will advance to the
next grade. Here are some tips to
helping your student succeed.
1 Provide healthy nutrition.
2 Make sure they get at least
8 hours of sleep.
3 Boost up their confidence.
4 Go over practice questions
with them.
5 Make sure they arrive to
school on time.
6 Make sure they are dressed
comfortably.
