Speech Genre vs.

Written Genre
By analyzing this activity system, I have observed genres that are used in the
workplace. Being that Autobell is a business based on labor, speech genre is found to
be more preferred and effective rather than a written genre. I observed this in two
different ways. I sent an email out to my store manager asking him about the
interview I needed to conduct for my English class. I was left with no response.
However, when I asked my store manager in person while at work, he was
responsive and willing to answer the questions I had for him. If I need a change done
to the schedule, such as a day I need to ask off, I am better off calling rather than
texting or emailing my store manager.
