Your Next Summer Adventure

T
he photo you are seeing was taken by Sara Child and is a picture of Seattle
taken from the Ferry on the way to Bainbridge Island, but even with Seattles
constant downtown traffic (literally there is always traffic) it is still a fun
place to go and explore. The streets rival those of the infamous San Francis-
co, and if you are going to drive there you probably wouldnt want to be driving a manu-
al it is a pain! All of the wonderful views and sites do make up for the traffic though;
there are so many things to see and places to explore. From Bill Speidels Underground
Tour to riding the Ferry to Bainbridge Island to walking Pikes Place Market there isnt
time to be bored! If you are planning to go to the world famous Space Needle in Seattle,
plan on taking the monorail, the view of downtown is pretty awesome and then you
wont have to worry about having to find parking or remembering where you parked!
Before you get to see the amazing view from the top that everyone is always talking
about/posting pictures of, you must buy your ticket and wait for your turn to get on the
elevator to see the spectacular view from the top floor of the Space Needle.

Hat and Boots is located in
Georgetown, a neighborhood of Seat-
tle. Built in 1954 as part of a Western-
themed gas station, it is billed as the
largest hat and cowboy boots in
America! The cowboy boots used to
be the bathrooms of the gas station,
and the hat was the convenience store
part of the gas station. The Hat n
Boots are located in a park with a
small playground that is pretty awe-
some. The Hat part of Hat n Boots
has some benches so you can sit on
them and just enjoy the park and
fresh air if that is what you decide to
do. You can see the door to what used
to be the bathroom of the gas station

they are the North Head Lighthouse and the Cape
Disappointment Lighthouse. The North Head Light-
house was completed in 1898 and it marks the en-
trance to the mighty Columbia River, it is one of the
windiest places in the United States. If you drive two
miles south of the North Head Lighthouse you can
visit the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse that was
completed in 1856. There is a little bit of a hike that
is required if you want to see the Cape Disappoint-
ment Lighthouse, but its worth it! The view of the
lighthouse and everything surrounding it creates a re-
markable view that you wont see anywhere else.
They arent exactly in
Seattle, but about three
and a half hours away
there are two lighthouses,
