The power crisis is fast becoming a world wide epidemic and

battery power plays a big part in the contingecy plans for these
unfortunate events. One of the most widely used batteries is
the Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) but these come with a
downside, the battery has to be replenished every two to three
years. owever, we have come across a very simple and
cheap tric! that some people in the !now have been using for
many years to bring a dead UPS battery bac! to life.

The tric! involves the use of "psom salts along with distilled
water. #ou can typically get "psom salts in any of the large
chemists, as "psom salts are used when it comes to many
cosmetic uses $ not %ust to give bac! life to a battery. "psom
salt is the commercial name for the inorganic salt, magnesium
sulphate.

&hen you are in possession of the "psom salts and the
distilled water, you have all you need to go ahead and ma!e up
the mi'ture. &e recommend that you wear gloves and safety
glasses and without any further adieu, here is the method(
)et *+, cup of "psom salt and mi' with * cups of distilled
water.
#ou should then put the solution into a saucepan and heat
it on the stove until all of the salt has dissolved.
-isconnect and remove the battery from the UPS %ust as
you would if you were replacing it.
Open the batteries filler caps.
.dd an e/ual amount of the 0gSO1+*2 solution into all
the filler holes at the top of the battery until all of solution
has been used.
#ou can then go ahead and put the filler caps bac! in
place and put the battery on charge.

.nd that3s it4 5ow you have to %ust be patient and sit bac! and
wait for the magic to wor! as the battery will improve each day,
ta!ing about 62 days to fully get bac! up to normal. &hat
happens is the cells will de7sulphate, meaning that there will be
better bac! up time for the battery with each day that you wait.
This same tric! with the distilled water and "psom salt can be
used more than once and it should mean that you get an e'tra
two years from the battery before you have to replace it with a
new one.
The price of some special salt definitely beats fully replenishing
the UPS itself.
