Tim Duane, Professor of Environmental Studies UC Santa Cruz 443 Interdisciplinary Studies Building Santa Cruz, CA
Dear Mr. Duane,
My name is Sabrina Garcia and I am planning on becoming a student attending UC Santa Cruz as an environmental studies major. I would like to take this opportunity to present myself as a viable candidate as an intern for your upcoming research project I know that you will be heading.
Throughout my high school career, I have undergone countless AP and Honor classes that have trained me to be a skilled and focused student who knows how to concentrate her energies on academics for a long period of time. My success within my Marine Biology Honors and AP Calculus classes would enable me to bring the factual aspect about science and merge it with the math skills Calculus has instilled within me and would be a valuable addition to your research group.
Since I am set to become an environmental studies major once I begin school in the fall, I am already searching for research opportunities that I know will help develop me into the confident and prepared student for life after graduation. Being apart of your research group would help me gain experience within the field and help develop me as a whole.
I look forward to possibly speaking to you about this opportunity in the future and being given the chance to experience things within my major first hand. If you would like, you may reach me at my personal line (209) 658-5476, or may email me at biinagarcia@gmail.com. Thank you again for you time.
