becauseIhadtobylaw.IwasonlysuccessfulinclassesIfoundinteresting,LikeAlgebra1.My
attendancewasalsoaproblem.Tardiesspecifically,wereconstant.Mysophomoreyear,thingsstayed
thesame.IonlyexcelledinclassesIwantedto.Butthatyear,Iwascalledupbyoneoftheschool
counselors.HeexplainedtomehowIwasgoingdownthewrongpaththatwouldleadnowhere.I
tookhiswordstoheart.Afterourconversation,IcompletelychangedthewayIsawschool.Ipromised
myselfIwasnotgoingtobeafailure.Beforetheschoolyearended,Isignedupforsummerschoolto
makeuptheclassesIfailed.
Iacedbothcoursesandfeltgood.Myjunioryear,Imaintainedabovea3.0GPAthroughout
thewholeschoolyear.IeventooktwoAPcoursesalongwiththetests.Thisyear,Imanagedto
achieveabovea4.0GPAinthefirstquarter.ItwasanamazingfeelingknowingIchangedforthe
better.IalsomanagedtokeepmyGPAabovea3.0thisyearaswell.Now,becauseImanagedtoturn
mygradesaround,IwillbeattendingCaliforniaStateUniversityStanislausintheFall.Thisiswhy,Iam
stillsatisfiedwithhowmytranscriptsturnedoutintheend.
