When I first read this, I noticed a lot that I could talk about and how I have noticed a lot

throughout my
schooling. The one thing I am choosing to talk about is the comparing students part on page 168. It says,
Comparing students in traditional classrooms, one of the most common ways of addressing differences
is to compare students. (pg 168). When going through my educational career before college, I realized
there were classes I really liked, but the one thing I did not appreciate was the teacher. The teacher
would act nice one day and then the next they would act as if you are doing badly in class and they dont
like you. The Teacher would also be kinder to another student who they thought were troubled in the
beginning. I feel as if it is unfair because I feel as if the grade is what influences the teacher to act a
certain way to the student. I feel as if when the teachers did not like me, it stopped me from going in and
asking for help and not wanting to try hard in class. I feel as if the teachers personality really affects the
mood of the classroom and the students. I have had a lot of teachers where I feel as if they did not think I
was smart enough and compared me to the smarter people in the class and that they did not want to
try to make me a better student. I feel as if this is the wrong way to go and teachers need to figure out
how each student learns so that they can help teach and motivate the students. I feel as if teachers
should not think of their day as oh another day teaching but to be positive and know that they are
helping the future of this world and think of it as a more positive way and not compare students to
eachother.
