Malawis first gentleman,Chief Justice
Richard Banda on Tuesday had his first
public assignment when visited Maula
Prison in Lilongwe where laid a
foundation stone for the construction
of additional cells.

This was his first public assignment
since her wife, Joyce took over the
presidency on April 7 following
President Bingu wa Mutharikas death.

said the First Gentleman was expected
to arrive at Maula prison by 14 hours.

The First Gentleman, 75, is regarded
