I would wave it over the group after the children have come inside and are all excited about their new sticks. They will recognize this as time to settle down. Games: Go outside and gather sticks. Bring them back in and have each child tape their sticks to their own large sheet of paper. The children then use crayons and their imagination to turn the sticks into something that was not a stick

Other Activities: When the drawings are finished have each of the children dictate to me a story about their stick. Start the story with Its not a stick. Its a .. and the children will half to complete the sentence.
Transition: When getting ready to go outside I would also wave the Ribbon wand around the children and recite Bibbity bobbity boo Go to the door to get your things on when the wand stops at you! Do this until they are all getting ready to go outside to pick up sticks.
