How was life during

World War II?

How did people contribute to the War? What sacrifices
did they make?
By:Collin Freund
Average American

People adjusted their lives by rationing food and

clothes. Also they had to live with fear of getting
attacked

People had to contribute to the army troops as much

as possible. They were asked to give scrap metal to
them so they can make weapons and also farmers
had to give a portion of their crops to the soldiers

The average American did not like making sacrifices

but they knew that it would help in the long run and
every little thing makes a difference
Women

Women took over men's jobs while they went off to

War

They also worked for less money than what men did

Most Women had to care for families on their own

Also many women would volunteer to be a medic for

the soldiers

Women tried staying very optimistic and productive

but they had a very stressful life
Children

Children were massively affected by WW II

Nearly 2 million people were evacuated from their

home to a safer place at the start of WW II

Children also endured rationing on everything they had

Children also endured gas mask lessons and living with

strangers

Children were accounted for 1 in 10 of the deaths

during Blitz of London (1940-1941)
Soldiers

Most soldiers were volunteers

They volunteered because they wanted to protect their

family and country

Soldiers do not have an easy life outside of war too

They too did not have good food or a lot of food and water

Also soldiers had a very tough life during war because

they had to sacrifice their lives or severe injury

Most soldier were either under 18 or over 40 years old

Contributions

All people of all ages had to contribute and

help to help end the war.

Industry's and factories responded to military

needs

They knew all sacra fixes help out a lot

though
Propagandas

During the war many propagandas were made.

They helped remind people what their important

efforts are doing and also reminded them to keep
it up and stay tough.
