Working:

When a person with RFID tag or transponder enters in the range of RFID reader, the RF field induces
voltage in the coils of tag. The range can be set by using the appropriate reader of appropriate
freuency. This induced field supplies the voltage in case of passive tags and act as a battery in that case. If
active tags are used then the case will be different as they have battery of their own.
The range of passive tags is low as compared to the active tags. Here
we used passive tags. When the tags interact with the reader they send the unique code carried by
the tag serially to the micro controller. These are disticnt 12 characters which are received by the
controller through serial communication. The characters are then matched with the database. If the
characters coincide with the records then the name and the card number is flkashed on the display
and attendance is marked. If the tag is not stored then it shows an error and the tag need to be
registered first with the database.
With attachments of a ! or through a memory module the attendance
of all day can be stored and then saved by the administrator at the end of the day. To make this fool
proof the system can be either password protected or activated by a unique id carried by the
administrator.
