To whom it may concein:

I am writing this letter to recommend Jamie Slay as a candidate for a teaching position in
your district. I had the privilege of serving as Ms. Slays instructor for a class on
assessment in the mathematics classroom and her supervisor during her Internship I
semester here at the University of Central Arkansas.

I found Ms. Slay to be a good student. She made an A in both the assessment class and
Internship I. When I was able to observe in the mathematics classroom I found she had a
good rapport with the students, and she worked collaboratively with her mentor teacher
and other colleagues. For someone at the very beginning of her career as a teacher, she
was able to plan and execute her lessons well. She was not merely aware of what the
research says about effective teaching she was able to implement many of the strategies
that have been found beneficial in her teaching.

Ms. Slay is also a very ethical person of good character. I believe she will work hard, put
the best interest of her students first and be an excellent teacher. Experience will provide
her with opportunities to continue to grow and learn.

If you have any additional questions, I will be glad to provide any information that I can.
You may contact me at the e-mail address or phone number listed below.
