Strategy: Reread- to go back over a text and read it again to check your understanding. Skill: Theme- The theme of the story is the overall message or lesson that an author wants to communicate. Vocabulary Strategy- Homophones Homophone pairs are words that sound alike, but are spelled differently and have different meanings. These words are easily confused and can hinder your comprehension of a text if misunderstood. For example, there and their are homophones. You can use context clues to help decide the meaning.
