For the Discourse Community Ethnography assignment, the purpose was to

determine how the discourse communities within our prepositional cup of tea
structure communicate. Before writing this paper prior research was to be done. By
this, observation and documentation samples were required. I enjoyed doing this
project because I was able to research and learn more about the discourse
community I plan on working in, which is sports medicine. This gave me the
advantage to see more in depth the communication that actually goes on between
the coaches, athletic trainers (certified and students), athletes, and doctors. I
learned new things as far as the type of medical terminology used to describe
injuries and/or treatments and methods required for the athletes. This assignment
was probably one of my favorites.
