Suzhou ()

Suzhou has a lengthy history of silk culture,with

traditions of mulberry planting, silk worm raising, silk
reeling and weaving. Silk from Suzhou was an imperial
tribute.It attained worldwide reputation from the Tang and
Song dynasties(a.d.618-1279). When Wanli Emperor
,from the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620),ruled,Suzhou was
surrounded by mulberry fields and formed a flourishing
silk market. Suzhou city has natural attributes like a good
amount of sunshine, bountiful rainfall and rich soils, that
provident good environment for silk of high qualities and
rich cocoons.
