Director of Asset Allocation

Our esteemed client, a leading financial institution, is currently looking for a Director of Asset Allocation
who will lead the development and maintenance of asset allocation methodology, incorporating the
established principles from the head of asset management and the CIO. This includes external partner
selection and an in depth understanding and analysis of the model and management of the portfolio
construction methodology team. This position will also collaborate with various technological, audit,
compliance and legal resources. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, and
an attractive relocation package is available.

Responsibilities:

Develop detailed asset allocation methodology including a process for maintaining viability of
the model
Select and transition asset allocation to an external partner based on asset allocation models
Must possess a deep institutional understanding of the drivers, strengths, and prospective
vulnerabilities of the asset allocation model
Effectively engage internal Committees in the consideration of the model and other inputs in
strategic and tactical allocation
Establish and maintain the methodology for creating baseline portfolios that translate the asset
allocation into specific combinations of funds/assets
Manage the employee team that applies this portfolio construction methodology
Build and manage a new team of direct reports
Build partnerships with various stakeholders and external resources


Skills/Requirements:

Bachelors degree
Advanced degree and CFA preferred
10+ years of experience in the field
Ability to manage and develop staff
Proven track record in successfully implementing solutions
