To get the children started 1 will ha3e the each pull out the recipe card that they brought /ro hoe! 1
will ha3e the say the things that they recogni5e /ro the card like nubers and words or letters!;
9e will then break up into /ree tie and 1 will sit at the table with the cards and the papers! =ach child
will recei3e a page and get to put their card on the page and use di//erent stickers> crayons> arkers> and
pictures to decorate their page and write their nae on the page! =ach child will then get to put their
page in the binder!
1 will continue to ask ?uestions about the recipe and the nubers and easureents! This is when 1 will
introduce the theroeter and the easuring cups to show the children what the nubers ean and
why they are iportant!

The children helpers /or the day will set the table and e3eryone will get in line to wash hands! My
second set o/ helpers will get their aprons on to help with the cooking acti3ity!

9e will be using the cookbook in the cooking acti3ities! The children helpers will be assisting each day
in the cooking acti3ities and doing their best to read the recipes!
The children will be ha3ing the opportunity to look through the cookbook as o/ten as they want!
They will re/lect on the teperatures and the easuring cups in the science areas during the science
sall group areas!
There will be cookbooks placed throughout the classroo during the week /or the to ha3e the
opportunity to re/lect on the reasoning and necessity o/ a cookbook!
