Background of the problem

Problem identification
Design specs, including constraints
6. Proposed solutions
Concepts 1, 2, and explanation
Concepts should be varied and cover solution possibilities, not just hydraulics or
gears only, try linkages, pulleys, etc.
7. Criteria for evaluation
For each component, explanation and justification of marks distribution
8. Final selected mechanism.
9. Gantt chart for 2
nd
semester. Never promise what you cannot deliver.
10. TQ and Q and A


1. Should prepare about 30 slides.
2. Should have a rough (justified) knowledge of important facts, such as size, load to
support, etc.
3. Try to present diagrams, photos of current methods.
4. If you are confident, put it on the slide, if not, just mention orally. People tend to
read slides.
5. Prepare extra slides which you do not present. When someone ask, then show the
slide, theyll be impressed. It shows that you do your work. Even if the question is not
directly related to the prepared slides, try to squeeze it in and it is going to buy some
timehe he.

The target is to impress during the 15 minutes allocated to you and pray for the best for
the next 10 minutes
