Abstract Conformity criteris art used for the quality verification of produced
concrete lots. This conformity control hes 2 filtering cffect on the stength dis-
ibution of concer, resulting in a higher average strength ands smaller stem

simulations, = numerical algorithm was developed in order to analyze the so-
celled filer effectof different conformity criteria. Further, thi fiker effect also
influences the safery level of concrete structures. This efit is investigated for
‘concrete structures, designed according to Eumeade 2, for which the concrete
sompressive strength & s sensitve variable in mgerd to the sefery index The
safety level of this type of coneree structims increases significantly when con
fomuity contol is taken into account Finally, ako the influence of eutocomel
tion on the Bler effect end the safety level of concrete souctures is evaluard
1 Introduction
Conformity contol of conorete is wed to invesdgate whether comcree complies with
a predefined characterstic compressive strength , by making usc of conformity criteria
As a resultof this quality verification, certain concrete lots are rejected and certein lots are
acocpted Because of this rectification, conformity control has a filtering effect on the com
cee strength distibuton. The average of the ougoing strength distibution increases and
the standard deviation decresces in comparison tothe incoming swength dicta buion.
‘As e consequence of this filter effect, conformity contol of the concrete praduetion slso
influences the tafery level of concrete smucmmes, which could be taken into account in the
elisbility enslysis of e concrete structure,
