    Whore

    She sits on the sofa


    Jumper four sizes too big
    Jeans two sizes too small
    Nail polish chewed away

    She sits, cold and crying


    Waiting for her fix
    Frantically dialling the number
    Of her supplier, her pimp

    Holding her herself


    Arms around her body
    Like bony sinews
    Yet she continues

    Oscillating to some inner tremble


    Her head shaking involuntarily
    Between the sobs.
