They are saying that the
time period when african
American's were not slaves
anymore and they were
discriminated against was
worse than when they were slaves . reconstruction was worse than slavery.

They are huddled together in a group with what looks like a bible in front of them. They
look like they are shielding their faces from something.






4. What does this image reveal about the relationship between white people and African
American during Reconstruction.
That the reconstruction was not a time that African Americans and white people got
along. t was right after the civil war and a lot of people thought they should still be
slaves not free people. This image reveals that the white people had all the power. They
were not getting along well.
