$arat Shei%h &oulana 'a%ariyya ((ahmatullahi Alaihi) mentioned:
)elo*ed brothers+ ,isten attenti*ely to what - ha*e to say and regard my ad*ice as a be.uest to you.
/uring the ma0lis that was conducted after the Asr salaah (wherein the %itaab was read before you)1 the
aspect of good character and sublime conduct was repeatedly discussed. - would li%e to share some
ad*ice related to that. -n *arious places of the 2uraan &a0eed Allah Ta3ala ma%es mention of the
sublime character of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) himself
mentions:
4- ha*e been /i*inely sent to perfect good character5
$owe*er one should understand that it is not in %eeping with the dictates of good character that one
sees wrong ta%ing place before him1 and yet he does not forbid the e*il. -n this day and age1 people feel
that if someone sees a person cutting or trimming his beard (less than a fist) and he does not pre*ent
him1 instead he is lenient towards him and turns a blind eye towards the wrong1 then he has shown
e6cellent character. They regard this gentle attitude to be part of the mubaara% character of Nabi
(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). Whereas it was not the mubaara% character of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam) that when he saw wrong ta%ing place before him1 he o*erloo%ed the sin or turned a blind
eye. The tendency of people nowadays has become such that they regard not ad*ising and reproaching
people o*er the wrongs they carry out to be part of good character. (&alfooaate $arat Shai%h 7/8#)
