Bill Gates 1835 73rd Ave NE, Medina, Washington 98039
Dear Mr. Gates:
My name is Julian Collins. I am a 12 year-old Del Mar Middle School student in Tiburon, CA. Im writing you a letter to tell you how I admire your work, and the products you have developed. I appreciate how you have advanced life with your PCs, your philosophy and your generosity.
PCs are a big part of my life. I use mine daily for games, schoolwork, search and reading. When I log onto my computer I think of you, the creator of the first personal computer, and of how much effort you put into these genius mechanisms. I got an IBuyPower desktop powered by Microsoft that has windows 8. I have been inspired to use the Maya and Blender programs to produce 3D animation. I am learning how to create texture joints, lighting, skeletal structure and inanimate items. I would like to thank you for making it possible for me to pursue what I want to do through your PCs.
I also like your philosophy and the way you think. What impresses me most is that you new your dream and potential at a young age. You tinkered around, studied what you loved and set a goal to achieve new products and operating systems. Your mind was set on changing and helping the world with your PCs, and creating a successful fun job for yourself. Another reason I idolize you is because you went above and beyond others in creating so many applications that work on most computers. You wanted something better, not just for yourself, but for everyone. Today many companies try to do what you did.
Finally I am awed by your generosity in improving education, healthcare and solving problems of the poor with kindness and humility. You are a model of someone who cares, who lends a helping hand to someone in need. The world needs more of the giving, benevolent traits that you have.
I wrote this letter to show my respect and gratitude. Everything in it is heartfelt. I tried to be succinct because I didnt want it to consume too much of your time. Mr. Gates, thank you for inventing some of the most helpful devices known to mankind.
