Fatal Feeling
Boredom
The fight against boredom is one that we have all battled, and most of us are
experienced fighters. Trading blows with possibly the worst state of mind that a human can
possess. The unbearable feeling of boredom creeps up on you, making you desperate for any
glimpse of entertainment. Being bored consumes you, has you waiting on the edge of your seat,
waiting for something exciting to spontaneously happen. Like a disease, it starts to spread
through your body, killing you little by little. It can chain you down, dirtying your mind enough
to make any way out of this physical and mental oppression seem impossible. Dying of
boredom can be like drowning in a frozen over lake; knowing theres no way out, but still
struggling to find the crack in the ice. It can wrap its cold, unforgiving hands around your
mouth, strangling you into silence.
Let your voice be heard. Scream, yell, shout your way out of this feeling. Crack the ice
and emerge on the surface. Finding the metaphorical cure for the disease. Only that could put
the beast that is boredom to rest. Clear your mind, take a deep breath, and cut the chains that
hold you down. Find the cure to the priorly-known inescapable disease. Sit back in your seat
and relax. After a fight like this, you deserve it.
