Review on Hobo

Hobo is an intriguing story in which there is a vagabond who is running away from the
previous town he had lived in. He believes there is a serial killer called The Knife who
is chasing him. However, as the story progresses the writer wittily lets the reader see
that the main character "Hannigan" is making up everything he is saying, due to the fact
that he is a drunkard.
The plot is captivating and contrived at the same time .After Hannigan enters the train
car, in a dark room with occasional flashes of light, he assures there is a man staring at
him. Then, he is afraid !ust for a while of having come across The Knife, but
suddenly he feels relieved that he is not that guy, as for his clothes and face patterns,
still in poor lighting . "esides, he asserts the other guy is also a bum like him, and that
he is drank, too. After that, Hannigan narrates a confusing story in which he has
presumably escaped The Knife that same day, and finally he believes the serial killer is
there and about to kill him.
The writer apparently sets the tone for a horror story, as for the selection of ad!ectives
for describing the place, but then as the story goes on, on account of the le#is carefully
chosen, and his smart use of monologues he leaves the reader notice what the story is
really about.
To sum up, $ do recommend this story, for two reasons. %irst, because it is captivating
from the beginning. second, for the clever writing style that Robert "lock used that
leaves unseen the plot of the story till a second reading of it.
