The Declaration of Human Rights
Part of the celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was presented by the Syria
students and supervised by teacher Taghreed Al Fanana . . First, they started by singing "Give us
our Childhood" by Remi Bandali. It was followed by a sketch about refugees. The sketch came as
a dialogue between three refugees: A Palestinian refugee living in Jordan, A Palestinian refugee
who used to live in Syria, and A Syrian refugee living in Jordan. Each talked about the problems
they and ancestors face. Then one of them suggested the solution: the unity of all the Arab
.children
.Afterwards , they sang a song about the unity of the children of the world
During the break, and as follow up activities, the students of the school parliament met with some
students of the school and the Syria students who had been asked to bring items from home that
remind them of their homeland and identity. They talked about them during a game called " The
Web." : the students hold a thread of a yarn and they talk about the value of the thing they are
talking about and they express their feelings , then they throw it to the other students and then

/

they ,in turn, talk about their things. The end result will be in the form of a web of threads,
symbolizing the unity between Syrian and Palestinian students. The activity was supervised by
.teacher Salam Saleh
