Approach - Five Expert Teams

Launched in 2002 by Pete Briger, the credit team at Fortress Investment Group
LLC now boasts more than 400 professionals pursuing investments around the
world. The team primarily focuses on undervalued assets as well as distressed and
illiquid credit investment.
At present, Fortress organizes its credit business into five distinct teams. One team
seeks out asset-backed securities and residential assets, including residential
securities and loans. Using a bottom-up approach, this team performs analyses that
incorporate underlying borrowers and collateral for each asset. A second team
focuses on corporate and asset-backed loans. This group has the expertise to
structure and price debt across the full range of capital structures.
A third team handles corporate securities and remains most interested in event-
driven, idiosyncratic opportunities in publicly traded securities. A fourth team invests
in performing and non-performing loans and assets across several different
industries. The fifth team oversees real estate loans and equity, specifically
distressed and special-situation investments, as well as recapitalizations and
opportunistic lending. This team boasts an integrated infrastructure for risk
management, origination, acquisition, and underwriting.
