Students will have facilitated a group discussion on the Take a Stand questions
Students will acknowledge that they may or may not agree or disagree with their group
members
Students will complete the discussion questions
Materials:
Take a Stand Worksheet
Take a Stand Discussion questions
Loose leaf paper
Smartboard
Procedure:
Opening:
Take attendance
Tell the students to take out the Take a Stand sheet they completed on Thursday
Put the students in groups
Body:
The students will choose five of the discussion questions and discuss with their group
members. They will write down each members response.
After the groups are finished, each group will pick one question they discussed and
present it to the class
Closing:
Collect the questions at the end of class
Let them know they will begin vocabulary on Friday
Standards:
Assessment:
I will walk around the groups to ensure that they are discussing the questions
I will collect their questions to make sure that they wrote down the material
I will listen to each group present their question
